We're OPEN!!!!!!!

Yep! Finally open! We just rounded out our second week of having business flowing in and out. Its going amazingly well, especially for a soft opening. :) We get busier and busier every day and people are ordering things to have made, like cakes and breakfast pastries! I can't wait for business to continue and meet more of our community we have joined.

Thank-you to all those who have stopped by and then told your friends about it, because your friends are coming in, too! :)

We will be having a grand opening in the near future, as soon as we make sure we can keep up with one. It will be announced here, twitter, facebook, and our email list so watch for it!

Right on Schedule....Sorta.

Now that it's the closing of the week, everything seems to be flowing nicely. The guys were at the shop late tearing up all the old flooring to make way for the beautiful new tile going in and the wall men got Sheetrock up on the outside walls! You can really see the new dimensions now!

By next week, the floors will be done along with the drywalling and we will get to start painting!!!! That one small step will bring it all together and actually look like the start of a bakery instead of a construction site. I simply cannot wait for that to happen!!!

Next week is also when all or most of the equipment will be installed! That's basically all there is... few minor construction and decorating things after that, then we will get health inspected and start production! Our early August goal is definitely going to be a reality, well as long as we stay away from any major snags... (Cross your fingers!)

Orders are also starting to pick up... It shows a real interest in the community to want to order our cakes and desserts already! Unfortunately, we have been unable to say yes to any of them so far, as they fall before we can start production and opening.... I'm very glad to see them there, though, none-the-less!

Well, I am hoping for a smooth week next week and then we will most likely announce the date/time of our grand opening soon!

Walls are Going UP!

Construction is moving right along! There are no more giant trenches in the floor and the framing for the walls is up! Its so exciting to be able to see actual dimension to our bakery. By the end of the week we should have drywall and then painting should start soon!

Another key element went up last week as well, THE SIGN! Its not the sign on the building but the one by the road. People are driving by and seeing it 24/7! The guys also made us a "Coming Soon!" banner so the town is starting to get the idea, I'm sure!

For all you Jeff Citians, be sure to keep following because it looks like we will probably be open in early August! I cannot WAIT for the dominating smell in this place to be of cinnamon and croissants, not sawdust and paint...

New Bakery Opening

We are currently in the process of getting our first bakery location opened. We are shooting for an August 2009 opening. We will see how construction goes. Our website is currently under construction as well. http://www.bkbakery.com
